In memory

How is everyone doing? I am posting this blog last minute and I apologize. This week has been a long one for me, and this blog is not going to be very upbeat because, I feel like writing about how I have felt this past week. One of my good friends that I grew up with lost his battle to cancer. His name was Nathan George and he was a student at LSUS. He was diagnosed with leukemia September 2009, and was pretty much in the hospital until he passed last Saturday. I have a close nit group of friends that I have gone to school with since we were in kindergarten, and Nathan was one of them. It is still hard to grasp this feeling; I just do not understand why his life was cut so short. He was a good person with high goals in life, it just doesn’t make since. The only since I can make of it is that he is no longer in pain, and he was very strong in his faith, so I am 100% sure he is in a better place watching down on us. Life is so precious and it’s sad that it takes times like this to snatch you back to reality and open your eyes to what is really important in life. I almost feel guilty now complaining about the things in my life because it has no comparison to what his family is going through. Everyone just keep the George family in your prayers and have a good day.

Weekend get away

I am glad the weekend is here, almost. I just have to make it through seven hours of work in the morning; then I am hitting the roads heading to Baton Rouge. I used to go to all the LSU home games, but I have been extra busy this year and have not been able to make it down south yet. Some of my friends and I decided that the LSU vs Alabama game would be a good one to go down and tailgate and see some friends that I have not seen in a long time. We have been planning this trip since football season started, so I am glad this weekend is finally here, I need a good weekend away from school and work.
How was everyone’s Halloween? I only went to one party on Friday, I went as "Captain Morgan" haha, it was fun. Then on Sunday, some friends and I cooked out and watched the Saints game while passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Though, we only had about ten different people knock on the door, it was a different experience; considering I have never handed candy out before, I am usually out doing something rather than sitting at the house on that night. Everyone have a good one!

Halloween!

This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the whole atmosphere of Halloween, even better, time changes Saturday at midnight, so that gives us an extra hour of Halloween. I wasn't planning on dressing up this year because I had no plans, but I was invited to a party on Fri, so now I have to come up with something to wear. My other favorite thing to do this time of year is go to haunted houses. When I was in high school we would always go out to Calhoun, where they had the haunted festival with three haunted houses. It was actually scary and worth the money, but for some reason they stopped doing it. I was disappointed. They now have that new haunted house downtown called "ultimate fear" I am not sure if I am going to make it to it this year, but I have heard it is a good one. Hope everyone has a good Halloween and a safe one.

Half way done

How's it going everyone? I cannot believe mid terms week has already come and go. This semester is flying by; it feels like we just started not too long ago. I am glad to have those test out of the way though, it is by far the best time of the year and it is Halloween next weekend, so I do not want to have to worry about studying for any test.
The article I found that I thought was interesting is the one about them finding another "earth like" planet. I think this is very intriguing because I have always had a little obsession about our universe. I have always thought it is way too big for us to be the only ones out there. With them finding this planet, it makes me think that we are one step closer to finding out what else is out there. But sometimes I think that maybe we are not supposed to know what’s out there, and that there is a reason we haven’t been able to figure it out yet. The mysteries of the unknown always keep me skeptical.

Hope everyone has a good Halloween!

Fright Fest

So the weekend is here again, but it is almost over already. I spent the whole day today with the family, my cousin is in from St Louis, so we all wanted to catch up and enjoy the day. I have been anticipating this weekend because I and a group of friends are going to Arlington, TX tomorrow for Fright Fest at Six Flags. I have not been since I was in middle school, so I am pretty pumped because I love a good thrill from the rides. It is going to be a long day, we are leaving early in the morning, and coming back as soon as the park closes, and then I have to be at work bright an early on Monday, but it is all going to be worth it. Everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend!

TGIF

All I can say is I am happy it is Fri. I need a break from work and school. This has been a busy week for me, I know I say that all the time, but this week was extra busy. My aunt is having a garage sale tomorrow and nobody in my family has had one of those since I was 10, so I have a whole bunch of junk that I accumulated over those 14 years ha-ha. Not really, but I do have a bunch of stuff that could be someone else’s treasure, so this is a perfect opportunity for me to try and get rid of it. So that's been taking up a lot of time this week, sorting through things I haven’t seen in years, the funniest thing I found was my first cell phone, let me tell you, I haven’t seen that phone since 2000, it brought back memories of when I was a young kid because the phone was huge and I remember how rare cell phones were back then.
Tomorrow I am going out to the revel to watch Sister Hazel play, should be a good show. I also enjoy the revel so it is a good excuse to go. Anyone been to the revel yet this year? It is usually fun, so I am not worried about it. Hope everyone has a good weekend and Geaux Tigers!

Anyone else notice?

How's it going? The weather is awesome outside today, glad I have the day off so I can spend as much of it as I can outside. Today I am having a blank on what to write about, so bare with me. So, at work there are lots of TV's and usually at least one of them is on the news channel. I could not help but to sit and watch it the other day and question myself as to why they only show negative stuff. Our local news shows about 5% good things going on in our community and the other 95% is about who got robbed? Who got killed? Who killed their kids this week? And I think it is just sad and terrible that they feel it is necessary to focus on all the negative things going on out there. Basically my point is the media has a terrible influence on us and I would be terrifed to let my kids leave the house, if I had any. I just wish they would show the good things going on around us instead of making us paranoid to pump gas with the worry of being shot.

Birthday weekend

Hey everyone, hope everyone had a good week. Mine was pretty hectic, the first test of the semester started this week. But now that I got those behind me it is time to celebrate my birthday. Though my birthday is on Monday, I am going out to celebrate it this weekend because I will be working on mon. blahh. Tonight we are having family and people from work over for dinner and to watch the game, then heading out to hit the town and see what we can get into tonight. I am finding out that the older you get the less exciting birthdays are lol, it is going to be my 23rd birthday and I am excited but not as excited as I was when it was my 16th or 21st birthday. Does anyone else agree? or do birthdays get exciting again once you get older? My cousin and I share the same birthday so me and him are going to have our "family" birthday together tomorrow. He is going to be 4, so I remember when I was that age birthdays were everything, the best day out of the whole year. So I just figured it would be easier for us to combine them instead of doing 2 separate parties. Well hope everyone has a good night and enjoys the rest of the weekend before getting back into the routine of the week. Later  -Chad

What a week

This has been the longest week of my life. Between working every morning and going to school at night I am spent. I used to take my weekends for granted but until I got a Monday-Friday job I now have a new respect for the weekends. I found myself running around like a crazy person again today trying to get assignments turned in on time, I have a terrible problem with procrastinating. What made this week even longer is I came down with one of those 24/hr bugs on Thurs. and I just do not have enough time to be sick right now so I had to just push through and keep going. On a better note, summer ends on September 24th, I could not be happier, this summer has been a hot one. Fall is by far my favorite time of the year, not just because it is my birthday, but because the weather  is awesome and football season. Hope everyone had a great week, thanks for reading. -Chad

Game day & remembering

Hey everyone, so today is the day that our first blog is due and I am just now writing it. I promise from now on I will do my blogs a few days before the due date instead of waiting until the last minute like I did this time. So today is game day, LSU vs Vanderbilt, I am having some friends over, cooking out and watching the game. Usually I go to the games but between school and working this semester I am only going to able to make it to a couple. I was a student at LSU Baton Rouge the past two years so it was nice always having my student season tickets to all the games. Even though today is game day and that's what I am I am thinking about I have not forgotten that it is 9/11. My thoughts are with the families who were affected by that tragedy. I still can not believe that it has been 9 years, I remember the day that happened like it was yesterday, I was in 6th grade then and did not fully understand what was actually happening to our country until I look back, now that I am older. The game starts in about an hour and my friends are here so I am going to wrap this blog up, next time I will have more to write and not be in such a hurry. Thanks for reading. -Chad

First Post

Hey, just writing on here to make sure I understand how all of this works. I have never blogged before so this should be intresting.
